1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth.
Big Turbo model. Mallard Green. Leather interior.
MOT till Aug 2015 but only done less than a hundred miles since last years!
Milage is approx 104k (speedo reads 51k due to new clocks fitted in 1997 by ford dealer (fully documented).
The time has come to sell my dream car after 6 years, I never thought i'd do it but I want to start a business and so it must go to an new home.
Its one of the first batch of 1992 cars, built for rally homologation and so has the larger turbo. It also benefits from the more luxurious black leather interior.
The car is running about 350bhp but is capable of much more.. I keep boost sensible to preserve drivablity as it has been my daily driver throughout the summers of my ownership. I have been keeping it in the garage over the winters because Escorts and winters dont mix!
Condition:
This car is for driving, and has been, so is not in perfect condition. It is good for its age but (to me) is for driving so is never going to be a concours car. It is 23 years old and there are inevitabliy some bad bits.. The biggest of which is the paint on the roof, areas on the wings and on small parts of the whale tail which has gone 'sorta bubbly' thanks to car cover getting wet from a leaking garage roof! I had the car resprayed 3 or 4 years ago and it looked totally amazing up until the leak last winter. I've tried to show in photos but its only noticable from quite close up.
It has some small scratches and blemishes but nothing bad considering its age and use.
Leather interior is generally pretty good, has the obligatory drivers bolster wear but no rips or tears.
There is tons of reciepts and history for the car running into tens of thousands of pounds in a very fat folder. Loads of which was done by me.
Engine Modifications include:
T38 Turbo from CRTurbos, 803 Injectors, 3bar map, MSD chip with Anti-lag & Launch control (both switchable), Airtech Alloy RS500 style intercoller, Alloy 50mm radiator (both in satin black) and switchable twin fan conversion. Apexi digital boost controller, All hoses Samco Silicone, uprated fuel pump, Full Stainless 3" single box exhaust. 6paddle clutch.
Other mofications:
Front & rear strut braces, Uprated (longer) drive shafts, Uprated Brake disks & pads, Koni shocks & Ahmed Bayjoo springs, Quick shift gears, Poly bushes throughout. Alloy Breather & water tanks. Full closure text alert CAT1 alarm/immob., Hard wired trickle charger system.
I have a few bits i've bought for the car but not yet fitted and these can go with the sale if i get close to my asking price. These include: HID headlight conversion kit, 2 almost new tyres, custom made 'outdoor' high quality car cover.
Im sure i've forgotten to mention lots of things so if you have any questions please ask.
All in all, it's a great honest Cosworth.. Awesome looks, goes 'shit-your pants' fast! and handles like a dream. its loud and gets attention wherever it goes.
