Will depend on overall condition, mileage, what needs doing...

Normally best to think of an amount you want realistically & go from there mate.

it went straight through an m.o.t with one minor which was the rear wheel beering with a little play in it and the mileage is 29099 which has been around the clock.

i done roughly 1200 miles running the engine and the turbo gave way and this is the result of the engine making a noirse

1.5k tops for car as is.
Break it for a whole lot more. You won't get retail prices back nor Cosworth breaker prices but if you have the time get it broke I'd say.

for many the appeal of owning a cosworth is the engine
if that's knackered and needs a rebuild its not a cheap fix
all I would say pricewise is advertise it for what you would be
happy selling it for, if you get no takers its obviously priced too high.

No one will pay £5k for that, sorry to say but if that's not bid up then the winner won't pay up when it ends.

eBay is awash with cossies, 99% of them will never sell and have been on there for months, escorts especially. Good luck with it though, it may help bag you a half decent offer at least.

I agree rog it is not genuine bidding. I was bidding on an excellent condition shell complete apart from the engine. Black leather interior rare ebony black car all it needed was block, turbo, hoses importantly no paint or bodywork needed and that sold for £4700 which was big money it shot up £1000+ the last 2-3mins I was bidding also. Compared to this its looking like a bargain. This needs bodywork, paint and a complete engine rebuild, wheels and interior. Its a great colour but needs an awful lot to make even respectful, would make a great track starting point but noway near £5000

i has a bet it will make 6k, i would personally pay upto 6k as i know i could spend 1500 on tidying it up and keep it in my unit for 3-5 years and pull about 4-5k profit.

I read that its been repainted so thought bodywise would be fine. Also never been welded was mentioned, there isnt many that havnt been welded at some point. Also having iirc £1500 on a 1/2 leather retrim seems like it as been looked after just unfortunate the engine as let go.

Prices of saphs, xr3i's, rs turbos, mk 1-2 escorts are a joke!

The majority of cosworths on ebay are overpriced shitters! Boy has a white one on just now with rusty front arches and no mot for 8k lol wtf! Wise up.

Seems 1 person started a trend by advertising their beloved ford at a stupid price and everybody has jumped on the bandwagon!

Agree mate.

Not saying this one is not worth it but just because it's gone straight up to £5k doesn't mean it's going to sell!

eBay is full of dreamers, messers & scammers, it's never that straight forward.

My mate put up his 28k mile R5 GT turbo and it sold for 7750 but guess what? I seen him driving it the other day before i travelled back to work! Ebay is the worst place to sell anything and is full of dreamers with no cash to match their mouth!

That seems about right, probably find the highest bidder, has had one or two cossies before, and has the odd spare bit here and the there to get it back running asap.

Youve only gotta look at whats forsale these days not a lot of choice, as there aint too many left now, so prices are only going to go one way it seems!

Have to disagree with you there, every rs I have either bought or in the past 8 years has been through eBay and I have bought and sold a lot.
I found forums are the worst place to buy or sell parts and cars never ever sell.
Partly because of where we live, nobody wants to come that far north.
There's time wastes and overpriced tat everywhere but like it or not eBay determines the value of cars and parts when it's an honest auction.

If the bloke has had it for a long time and its not a rusty shitter but a well looked after car he will be bonkers to accept your lowball £3k offer. I hope he has Sons or Daughters who will help him get a proper price for it when he does come to sell it. Do you always sell your stuff at knock down prices ?

So you wouldn't buy it given the chance at 3k? jealousy is a terrible thing!
the bloke doesn't have to accept his 3k offer, its not as if he's forcing him to sell it!!
