Exclamation 1961 Ford Galaxie

1961 Ford Starliner

When you say "muscle cars" people instantly think Mustang but forget an earlier classic Ford that still had that all american tough muscle car look. The vintage 1961 Starliner fitted with 2 doors and a large V8 motor commanded just as much attention rolling down the road as the later muscle cars of this decade. Accented with some of the nicest body lines and trim pieces ever designed these cars always stand out in the crowd. With the largely reduced fins in the back you can still see hints of the 50's through its tough exterior and looking at the front end there is no doubting Ford was a little inspired by the Chevy Impala.

This very well maintained 1961 Starliner is in great condition. It has been a Texas car its whole life and continues to be entirely rust free. All of the metal is very straight and coated in a Monte Carlo Red that really pops out in the sun. All of the chrome work is in beautiful condition as is the stainless trim. The rear fender pieces almost appear to stem from the rear bumper creating an incredibly unique side profile look that is enough to make anyone fall in love with design work put into classic cars. Dual headlights are found up front and large circle taillights in rear all of which are working properly. All of the glass is in food condition and rolling down the side windows you can easily see why it is considered a hardtop. Polished out Cragar SS wheels sit under each corner and are the perfect addition to a car like this.

The drive train on this classic consists of the original style 390 V8 300hp motor that has no problem getting those wheels spinning. It is topped with a 4 barrel carburetor and is fitted with vintage style valve covers. Multiple components throughout the drive train were just gone through and replaced to insure everything is operating smoothly. These new parts include the new dual master cylinder, new brake booster, new proportional valve, new Griffin aluminum radiator, new ball joints, new power steering control valve, new motor mounts and a new oil pan gasket. In addition to that the rear end was completely rebuilt with 3:50 gears. Mating up to the engine is a 3 speed manual transmission with overdrive that shifts well with zero issues. This really is a smooth driving classic that is very fun to cruise around in. It has a great sound which is provided through the dual exhaust exiting out of the rear. Power steering is in place making the car extremely easy to drive. Everything works with the only exception being the clock which is a very common thing with these old classics.

The interior is just as clean as the rest with the dash all painted Red to match the exterior. The upholstery is a combo of Red and White that nicely covers the split bench up front and full bench in rear. All of the original knobs, switches, gauges, etc are in place on the dash and even the original radio. A custom Hidden stereo system with MP3/Ipod was installed to maintain the original appearance while still being able to listen to your favorite tunes. The original steering wheel looks perfect sitting in front of the driver and the shifter is mounted behind it on the column.

You don't see these very often so add this one to your collection

while you still can for only $38,500.00!
