It's certainly been through a lot of changes. I loved the original car myself. In fact is it me or did the whole thing in Sunburst red look really good as a Cossie rep?
Sadly no chance of achieving that sort of money, but I can appreciate the effort that's gone into it over the years.

Ok I knew I'd get a few digs for the price, I've done the same as every seller does and overpriced it, yea it's a lot but more has been spent on the car that the price listed and obviously I'm open to sensible offers but won't be selling it to joe bloggs for penny's, I've seen one comment saying they was thinking of buying a rep without the engine and was planning on fitting one to resell for profit, if you can at that price and it's in as good condition or better than mine then go for it 
and best of luck to you but I think you'll have a real eye opener when doing so, the paint job was done on a pig farm and has sat on the driveway collecting dust dirt and just about everything since march when it was last cleaned, few pics below to show how crap the paint job is, the bump strips were wonky before fitting but had been left for a few months prior to fitting to be straightened out, however after fitting and the hot sun hitting them they reshaped back to wonky and 2 of the smaller ones were fitted wonky by myself I will admit so now the whole lot does look wNk, I listed the car as a project not a complete finished car with an mot so the few who are having a serious dig are some real friendly enthusiasts it seems, or maybe it's just that time of the month... I'll do a full update of the car as soon as my PC is fixed to upload a good few pics, apologies for the minimal information/spec on the car ATM but most parts are either new or like new with very few upgraded aftermarket parts, bits here and there that still need doing are being done in the meantime but if the car sells before it's finished then it sells

Im sorry im struggling to see where Ł14,000 has been spent on this.
Im confused one minute trying to justify the price than admitting its a Ł14,500 project with a shocking paint job and overall finish is poor.
You should not of commented on it I think no buyer would take you seriously or think your credible. I think ebays your best now 0.99 start with no reserve.

needs breaking for bits for the best returns as you may get to 6k, as a car its no more than 5k and its no where near a 14k car.
i have a good friend contemplating selling a genuine moonstone on a D plate with a genuine 70k and its a straight a car as you'd come across (other than a saph dash fitted) and he's think of asking 16k for it which is only 1.5k more than the asking price of a B plate rep that needs finishing off and painting
i'm sorry mate but you'll never sell it as it is for what you're asking.

Fact of the matter is all Cosworths are getting over priced. Proof is they don't seem to be changing hands. Theres some nice ones on here but stupid money - I rekon loads of people paid 50% of what their asking but now they think their sat on a house deposit. Probably got the missus in their ear! every now and again one pops up priced to sell!
the last one that caught my eye was for sale buy a dealer on a fore court of all places - Moonstone 88 saff, cloth, 68k, Ł6000 that's more like it
people on ebay would ask 10K for it!
theres a 4x4 on gumtree for 6K, maybe worth a trip to Ireland for it but the sellar would have to be prepared to talk proper money, you'd have to factor in the travel cost etc
Personally I think theres some nice ones about but stupid money - I think ive totally missed the boat on an RS500 or an escort which is a sad fact :-( Time to buy was 5 years ago

std std crank unground
new big end small end and crankshaft bearings
new mahle piston rings
2wd sump
gaskets new all round
standard 60k mile t5 gearbox in perfect order
standard 2wd rear axle again come off a 60k mile car
new rear brake calipers discs pads
reconditioned front calipers new discs pads
3dr cosworth front hubs
full bodykit genuine not fibreglass any of it all in very good condition, none warped and none cracked like the usual crap going around on ebay....
full cosworth 3 door interior with the exception of door cards and a 2wd dashboard that is mint
every single rubber on the car is like new with no signs of perishing unlike most xr4i's and a good few cosworths these days due to the fact this car was always garaged

prices are open to movement-boxes-hmmm if its good-no whines no synchro selling b/housing speedo drive and top shifter/mounting separate you will see Ł700
if box is good mind...
engine of that type with that head-again imho Ł2k all day long-then maybe more...
i stress if the parts are good-have you tried to buy a "good" used t5 gearbox lol

this just sums up the overpriced ford world.
i like the full cosworth interior apart from door cards and dash so thats a set of recaros then yeh, not quite a full interior
