1968 cortina mk2 de luxe built up as gt
i bought this as a winter project but a mk2 escort ive been after for a while has come up so this one has to go
the car itself is very solid, easy winter resto mainly cosmetic, paintwork is terrible the car was genuinely kept in a barn by prevous owner and as such has accumalated quite a few dents etc
the car has also been painted underneath which is still quite tidy so no nasty underseal hiding patches etc
also has some good bits fitted ie
escort steering conversion (no more nasty steering box)
modified escort crossmember
capri struts
capri brakes
adjustable tca,s
adjustable in situ compression struts
adjustable top mounts
1600e axle with tramp bars
2000e 3 rail 4spd box
minilites
previous owner also had engine rebuilt ie
711 block
lightened and balanced crank and flywheel
arp bolts
1300 pistons
professionally ported 1600gt head with hardened valve seats so runs unleaded
kent 234 cam
duplex timing gear
twin 40s
ashley exhaust
facet pump etc
unfortunately no paperwork as been misplaced,i have log book in my name and a couple of old mots. im in contact with previous owner and any paperwork he comes across will be forwarded
engine is Very strong and sounds mint,could do with a high torque starter as turns over slow due to high comp
interior is good no rips etc could do with steering wheel and head lining tidying and maybe a couple of small door/glass seals
all in all a nice car with cosmetics will be a very nice car ideal lotus rep
rear arches/wings are mint
no tax or test was last t&t apprx 2 year ago but has been standing approx 2 years unused,although starts and drives will need trailering away as been stood a while and for peace of mind could do with service/brakes serviced etc
car is 45 years old so obviously is tax exempt states historic vehicle on log book
car is in sunderland tyne and wear
