MK1 Escort, For Sale or PX
Ford Escort two door Project tax exempt
I bought this car two years ago to restore but we have since moved and the car is now in storage. I spent a lot of time finding this car as I wanted one that did not need as much work as others I have seen. It is still painted its original colour which is Aqua Jade apparently they only painted the Escorts this colour in 1969. I would like it sold but I am not desperate for the money or the space so I shall not be giving it away.
It is a base model 1100cc two door it is a local car to me. It was bought from the local Ford dealership in 1969 and was registered with the original owner until 2004.The second owner had made a poor attempt to restore the car himself using sheet steel and pop rivet. When I bought the car in 2010 I became the third owner and have the logbook in my name to confirm this.
Since I bought the car I have cut out the plates on the driver’s side to reveal what needs to be done. As can be seen from the pictures it will need repairs to the floor front and back, sills, wheel arches a petrol tank trough and a repair to the front chassis leg where the bumper bar attaches. I can only assume that the passenger side will need the same. The doors could do with reskinning I do have another pair of doors but these will also need work.
On the good side the strut tops are both perfect as is the heater bowl, bulkhead, front and back scuttles, roof, bonnet and boot. The car is complete including the original rubber floor mats, lights, grill and bumpers etc.
I have spent a lot of money on new and second hand parts. The panels are all new there is
Two steel Mexico wings
A round headlight front panel
A front Crossmember
All Drivers side panels.
A kick panel
A sill
Inner and outer wheel arch
Inner and outer petrol tank trough
I have also bought a 2000cc Pinto engine (205 Block) with a polished and ported cylinder head and an alloy RS2000 sump the fly wheel is also with it. I also have a pair of RS2000 engine mounts and gearbox lowering blocks so a Sierra gearbox can be fitted. There is also a six dial dash. When I bought the car there was some spares in the boot including brand new Motocraft shockers these will also be included in the sale.
I am looking for £3200 or sensible offers and I mean SENSIBLE OFFERS or PX for a Sierra Cosworth and I can add money.
