Talking '89 XR3i EFi, immaculate - the one to buy

1989 Ford Escort XR3i EFi

1.6 8v EFi CVH engine, in gleaming Diamond White with only 51,000 genuine miles and full service history. Almost all previous MOT's etc. 12 months MOT and 6 months tax, ready to go. Enthusiast owned and driven.

Full '90 spec from new including EFi engine, 'Lattice' style 14" alloy wheels with recent Toyo tyres all round, heated front and rear screens, original driving lamps, electric windows, upgraded remote central locking alarm/immobiliser, electric and heated mirrors, tilt/slide sunroof, black spoiler + sill trim and late type interior to which I have added the optional extra fuel/trip computer. Everything works as it should.

Full advert and pictures in PH ad - Here

Contact me here or via PH ad, if you know anyone who might be interested pass them on.

Thanks, Ash.

Cheers mate, this ones brilliant. Was expecting a price related comment being on passionford, but the money i've spent on it is possibly close to that

And there are plenty about that just don't meet my standards.

No getting away from it being pricey but looks to be mint and the MK4 XR3i is a dying breed... rare to see them around at all these days TBH.

Cheers,
Grant

Something i noticed since getting this one, was looking at RS turbos at first, but this was too nice to pass up. It's now twice as good as it was then, and had one or two people on Pistonheads come forward already.

Only seen two XR3i's around here, and a good few turbo's.

Hopefully someone will want one enough to get a good one. I rarely buy on price instead of condition. I'll be sad to see this one go!

If anyone is interested in a part ex i can do cash either way so just get in touch, anything considered!

Lovely example - getting to the point where they are rarer than RS's and its great to see one on the road! Hope it goes to an enthusiast!

I'll be taking some this week probs with the SLR as most i've got are just iPhone pics. Once i've done that i'll add the link to PH ad for a higher quality album cause they reduce quality for the ad

Me too! And hopefully one that looks after it properly instead of cutting a couple corners like the previous 'enthusiast' owner did.

It's 100% now.

Looks like a great example. Had a black 90 spec XR3i myself, great little car. One little question, why doesn't it have the 90 spec front bumper?

I wondered this myself, but assumed cause it was an '89 it just missed out when they were starting the 90 spec builds, but i only noticed after a couple months when looking at others. I was glad to be honest as when i looked at others with late bumper i didn't think it worked so well with the shape of the car. If it had the late bumper i may even have forced myself to change it!

As it is i wouldn't change the looks at all. I bought some 15" cosworth lattice alloys to refurb but couldn't decide whether to fit them or not

Ahr i remember seeing it in the for sale section, awesome car.

And i would bang the cossie wheels on but they need refurb and tyres first so it'll have to stay as it is at least over winter.

Shame you don't wanna part ex Nearly bought an RS1800 couple months ago.

Fortunately, there are people out there willing to pay for something worth buying.

Collected it this afternoon

What would you say was a fair price? £1500?

And for the record, theres no need to be rude about it. With the interest i got, and the fact i got the asking price for it, shows it was clearly worth that price.
