Mk2 golf 1600 driver on a G plate
MOT - August 2012
TAX - 31st January 2012
Generally tatty condition, although not much rust, bonnet has a good few dents init, few scratches around the body, wheels well kurbed etc, has big bumbers.
Engine does burn a little oil, although starts 1st time every morning. But once hot can idle rough. It has a K&N bolt on filter ontop of the carb which is prolly half the problem
Will definatly need....
a rear silencer, has a big hole which we fire gummed up to get through the mot lol. Now it just blows.
Wheels checked and balanced or changed, Has a steering wobble, has got worse recently, i dont know if the wheels are out of balance or slightly buckled, or there is play in the rack?
Front brakes, although they work fine, they do sqeek when 1st applied after sitting a while, may be ok but i havent bothered looking =P
Basically i bought this cheap to run around after selling my cooper s to pay off some debts, ive been running it to and from work for the last 3 months and its got me there and back everytime. but to be fair its only 2 miles there and back, so no idea what it would be like on a long run, its does idle a little rough/low when hot.
Ive put a new gear stick ball and cup onit, so you cant select reverse by accident anymore lol, also put a new set of ht and coil leads which were 40 bloody quid =O
To be honest i was gonna keep it, spray it matt black and run it til it died, then throw a 8v gti engine in, but my girlfriend wont drive it as no power steering etc, and to be fair she needs something she can use (saves me going bloody shopping =P)
So £350 come and drive it away, if no1 wants it ill take any good bits off and go and weight it in =)
Also have a stainless scorpian dtm style gti system you can have for an extra £100, all you need to fit it is a £15 1.8 driver downpipe =)
