LHD Escort RS1600i - barn find
Hey guys,
last year some old farmer on the german countryside cleared out his barn and sold me this little gem:
I'm selling this as I already have 2 RS' and simply can't cater for another car and give it the attention it deserves. Also, it'd be quite handy to have another garage vacant over the winter.
Even though it stood in a shed for over 12 years, it starts, drives and brakes. Obviously it's not fit for the road, due to old fluids, etc. yet after changing the oil I gave it a little test drive on my "private road".
The K-Jetronic probably needs some attention to make it idle and cold start properly again.
As far as I can tell, the car is completely original. The only thing I'm not sure about is the steering wheel but I will throw in an RS item if you want.
I made heaps of pictures of the car and even took the carpet out to show you that the shell is actually in good condition and can easily be saved with a little bit of welding.
The car has all the original decals, yet according to the paint thickness gauge I borrowed, both front wings, bonnet and doors have been resprayed at some point. There is also a bit of laquer peeling from the doors. You will also notice in the pics that the panel gaps between door and wing are slightly different left and right. Apart from that there is no sign of previous accident damage, the chassis rails for instance look good.

Regarding price...
I'm looking at 1500 pounds. The car is currently located in Southern Germany but can be brought over to Dover at buyers expense.
