Unfinished series 2, cossie managed
Ive decided to stop my series 2 cossie management project and let someone else complete it then enjoy what will be a really smart example.
Ok, where do i start. i had a grey series2 which was on 100k, engine had been rebuilt 9k ago and rebuilt gearbox, but hte shell was rotting so i bought a red shell with all log book etc as if i was buying the whole car, i then transferred everything over.
Red shell is a 1989 G reg full 90 spec. Had new front wings, new front panel, new outer sills, new boot floor, new rear arches and rear panel, the roof was all worked to get rid of any rust bubbles, was delocked, bonnet smoothed. Then all painted in 2 pack and laquer radiant red. Bumpers have had the line smoothed over. Battery tray wasnt touched and so panel underneath starting to go a bit. Theres a scratch about an inch long on passenger door, and theres a small patch on rear chassis rail needing doing, tiny bit at bottom of rear wing on the inside underneath , where they all go. I have been quoted £100 to do all this. Rear bumper has bit of scratching in middle thats been touched in, u wouldnt tell from a distance, foront bumper has some light storage scratches and has a hole either side for indicators. See pics though, this is an excellent shell.
Has rear opening windows, most window rubbers were new. Rest of underneath totally solid and clean.
Ok, engine as said was rebuilt few years ago, had no problems with it when it was coming off road. Has a piper cam and a vernier pulley. Stage 2 t3 turbo with -31, no play in shaft. AP racing organic clutch. Scorpion exhaust system.
Brakes are cossie discs and calipers all round, all pads new, front calipers are brake engineering refurbed. Brake lines powdercoated green, have proportioning valve things in rear lines from a ka for rear discs, goodridge hoses, braided lines in bay from master cylinder to T pieces.
-All suspension parts are either painted or powdercoated, polly bushed (purple ones).
-Mint fuel pump cradle etc with brand new bobbings etc ready to go on the car.
-Fuel tank painted red
-Around 85% of whats needed for cossie management is there. Sierra 1.8 alternator and pulley set up, level 6 ecu with pectel board, coil pack board and a chip, green injectors, fez turbo coil pack, most sensors, twin ignition amps, all gaskets etc all brand new, all pipe work from oddkidd creations and fittings.
Inlet manifold is fiesta turbo which has been welded and smoothed, same as the charge pipe then all powdercoated gloss black along with fuel rail and coil pack bracket, 3 bar bracket. Cossie throttle body.
Wiring loom had all the mfi bits cut out of it.
Toad Ai606 cat 1 alarm.
Ok, quick list off top of my head of other interesting bits:-
-Polished GRS large mount cooler with twin kenlowes
-Pace alloy rad
-Red Samco boost and coolant hoses
-Bailey header tank, swirl pot, A.S oil seperator, all powdercoated gloss black.
-Koni adjustables
-Rear polished strut brace bolted in between wheel arches, runs along behind rear seat.
-17inch Wolfrace Voodoos, need new front tyres.
-Ultra clear nomad front indicators
-Smoked red immaculate rear lights
-Proper ford rear mudflaps
-Gauges, boost, oil pressure, volts, 2 of which are in a Nomad A pillar full pod thing.
-Lockwood white dials, Act gauge, but needs new temp sender and wire
Interior in absolutely superb condition, seats have no harsh wear, all bolsters are well in tact, no major creasing at all or stretch marks. Door cards excellent, have door bin speaker pods for 6.5inch speakers, covered in black leather look material although not the best of jobs. Leather gear gaitor that properly fits into center console from xr2i fez. Carpet had been washed, is excellent, no rips etc.
There must be so much more i have forgotten to write.
To complete collecting parts for this car you will need:-
-cossie engine bay loom, a coil pack loom (£60 from Jano), a tps, a 3 bar map sensor, a air filter, a pair of headlights and then obviously once you had built car up it would need to be taken to Jano so he can adjust everything and set it up etc.
Ive got a garage full of random spares, like spare windscreen seal, center consoles, dashboard dial surrounds, old suspension bits etc etc. If someone buys this i basically want them to come round and completely clear my garage out of all the old ford escort turbo bits i have.
I have been still building parts of the car up recently as do still have a bit of enthusiasm, however, as much as i'd like to see what the engine bay will look like with all the gloss black parts etc, im gonna sort of pause with the building up now incase i decide to just break it for parts if i get no real interest in it as a whole.
Price is £2600 ono.
pics will be coming up next. Im in Essex.
Cheers, Mike
