Default 1989 89 ford escort rs turbo

were to start on this car well i bought it about 2 years ago now used it for about 4 months then it has been dry stored.I got it out abot december some time and put a new battary tray in and cut all the front cross member out and front panel and was replaced still need to put the plates and bonnet stay on.i bought a second hand engine from some one and sent it to the engine rebuilders to be givin a fresh new life this is the mods on the engine
mahly low comp pistons new rings on them
kent 35 cam with a kent adjustable pully, uprated valves and springs
the head has been ported and polished all new exhaust studs in put in
crank ground out to .25 mains and big ends new shells etc
all of the bottom end has been ballanced inclueding flywheel
lightened fly wheel with a greenspeed clutch
new cambelt kit,oil pump,water pump, new oil pressure switch,every gasket was replaced on the engine engine has all been sprayed looks good
the bill alone from the engine build is £1350 with papers to prove this.
the turbo has covered less than 500miles with no play in shaft at all it has a collins 32 actuater.i have a paper work from turbo technics to prove you can see by the turbo compresser being silver colour still.
its chipped and running 185bhp at 14psi i have the paper work to prove some were this was on my last engine.
its got pro alloy rad,pro alloy front mount intercooler with 2 spool fans,power flow full stainless exhaust k&n air filter new ht leads plugs battery clifford alarm moberlizer boost gauge mechanical oil pressure gauge.
i have loads of spares to go with the car a hole engine with a 300quid newman cam in it 3 rocker covers 5 spare alloys a fuel metering unit the standard air box! a brand new bonnet and a vgc boot lid to go on the car as the ones on there are abit rusty in the usal places,i have a burton high pressure oil pump another thermostat cover a standard cam the standard rad and intercooler the car is very solid wen it went for its mot a thew months ago it failed on a bush and a lil bit of rust on the sill half the size of ur thumb i prob have loads more spare just cant think now
its got a sub and cd player to.
it does have a scratch on the drivers door and a sanded down bit on the corner of wing i was goin to spray it but other comitments ie the miss and my baby its time to sell
the car does have a running fault it doesnt like to idle wen its hot i have only been up the road a thew times since its been rebuilt done prob done less than 30 miles and the car does really need to be set up proply im sure this isnt a major fault as its just had a full engine rebuild viewing is wellcomed you must see this car to see how much hard work has gone in to it.i would say the car will need to be picked incase some damage will be done.





forgot to mention iv got another alternater/standard flywheel 2 clutches spare water hoses spare header tank there is no bubble around the sunroof dont think theres any rot in the roof.basicly theres a freshly rebuilt engine in there and a fresh turbo with paper work to back it up its got a elec oil pressure gauge in the car to its not pluged in that cost 50 quid
the car is worth alot seeing its had
a new battary tray all rot cut out around it
a new cross member and hole front pannel
a freshly rebuilt engine costing £1400 witch hasnt even done 50 miles
a fresh turbo with a new collins 32 actuater
pro alloy rad
pro alloy intercooler
chiped ecu
power flow stainless exhaust
all kent cam mahly pistons kent adjustable pulley cross hatch head ported and pollished exhaust studs been replaced
new battary
car starts but wont idle wen its hot think its the choke or cold start valve or fueling so havnt drove it may consider swap evo1 gsr or scooby uk model or £2.5k cash
il gets loads of pics of stuff tomorow





brand new bonnet
vgc boot lid
spot lights
air oil cooler with pipeing oil catch tank
fuel metering unit / amal valve /air box clutch / rocker cover some water hoses / standard rad/2 turbo timers / standard ecu/fueling ecu/2 thermostat hoseing with stats /a new fuel pipe /standard fan /half a turbo.loads of lil bits.in that spare engine is a newman cam
theres is a baileys dumpvalve on the car to.there is so much money worth in parts alone on this car.just remember the cross member and front panel have been cut out and replaced with new and the battary tray the fuse side is pritty solid to.the engine just cost nearly 2k with all the parts that were put in fogot to say its got arp borrom end bolts and victar reinz head bolts.

it has long mot and about 2 months tax

from reading your previous posts its sounds like you have had this problem from the day you bought the car . With all the money you have spent why dont you try and get it sorted , you must have a few mates who can help you find the problem.

Take it to someone who knows what they are doing , like norris or jamsport ?

All it can is the fuel metering unit playing up , just buy another one of ebay to see if it that cures the problem, you will make your money back when the car is running right.


Dont wanna sound harsh but i dont think anyone will pay that money for a car that is not running properly


Just pull your finger out and get it sorted chappy


How come you want an evo / scooby ? I hope you have deep pockets to keep them running

There's plenty of people local to you that know what they are doing with these cars try taking it to woodford garage in totnes james and aaron know there shit with rs's

does the little box click to the right of the throttle housing when u move the throttle.
if not loosen the screws wiggle it about till it does on slight throttle, that can effect the idling so ive found out, also theres a sensor at the back of the inlet manifold what can go and that plays merry fuck with idling and rich /lean
Can be a few things i wouldnt give up

iv spent so much money on it i feel sick spending any more it sounds fine runing just wen u leave it idleing it just slowly starts to die.
i no its not the engine its a fresh rebuild.im happy to brake it up now and buy and audi a3 quattro i think
