Mint 2wd sapphire good spec! Big price drop!
My pride and joy is now up for sale owed for over 4yrs now to fund mk1 escort.ill be the first to say this is not the cheapest out there but is one of the best ones out there which are getting hard to find!
1989 Greg 2wd 66k from new, full service history, car is taxed and tested this really needs to be viewed to understand how great this car is! all work was carried out by last owner to make it this great spec ive only had to just enjoy it!
body:
The bodywork is immaculate with all original panels has 4x4 bonnet fitted,morrete twin lights and rs 500 front splitter.The underneath has been waxoiled regularly and has never been welded! you wont find a better one! detailed polished last yeah.
Engine:
200 block,6 long studs,oil pump feed hole machined to wrc spec,block decked work carried out by ahmed bayjoo,bottom end lightened and balanced,mahle low compresion pistons,7:2/1 cr.the cylinder head has a complete overhaul with new valves and bronze guides, ported and polished,bd 14inlet ,standard exhaust,camshafts, genuine mountune wrc 4 layer head gasket. new turbo technics t34 turbo 360 bearing cut back blades and 63 back housing. chromed group A breather system,verniers,motorsport airinjectors.The car was live mapped and had closed loop fitted to it by stu at motorsport developments.level 8 and grey injectors fitted.car is estimated 400 plus bhp but also drives mint and returns good mpg.motorsport leads, bosch 044 fuel pump fitted.
transmission:
standard diff with uprated diff mount standard gearbox with B&N quick shift Alcon 6paddle clutch
suspension:
strut braces front and rear,koni shocks and chassis dynamic springs,poly bushed front end
Brakes:
330 ap front discs with ap 4pots, standard 2wd rears
wheels:
mint compermotive mo five spokes,8 x17,et35 with new yokohama parada spec2 215/40/17 tyres
Interior:
raven leather and is also immaculate no rips, tears ,or burns Has kenwood mp3 player,front and back speakers and tweeters,12 inch sub but needs new amp.
The car has a rs 500 forge alloy intercooler,pace turbo cooler,swirl pot,bailey damper,samcos,group a k+n, mongoose exhaust system. only bad points is the chrome tanks are needing re chroming due to being alloy tanks.
please no messers geniune buyers only car is based in portsmouth can be viewed anytime.
price is now £8500
dropped to a more realistic price thought try my luck at 10k which it is worth! this price is the final no debates, been offered this by a few people and have accepted then thats last here from them.

The are does run 2 bar I should of left a couple of gauges with Russ so he could prove it. The car has Been live mapped properly so is alot smoother, rather than be flat as fuck then a belt of boost. It's a shame you are worried about boost kick and failed to see what a clean original unwelded unmolestered and well looked after car this is.
We looked at others at ford fair that were more money and not a patch on this car!!
Your right it's not worth 8k it's worth more to someone that can appreciate it.
This is not a Joey Barry boy cossie it's a proper example!!!

Boost kick it was flat as areshole yeah it's clean but deff turned down,my brothers is a Harvey Gibbs speced 400bhp running same boost as this light blues, this wasn't a patch on it! my remapped skoda Octavia Vrs would of given it a run and it's only 240bhp, I'm just disappointed all that way insured it had the cash so in total it's cost me £90,but def not 2 bar

Remember this is low comp. I had a rwd escos same boost but high comp, with blacks and mine "felt" alot quicker but side by side wasn't alot in it.
Also fwd will feel quick as it's probably all over the road rather than gripping and going.
Shame you just abused the car when it now seems it's only the power you were dissapointed in and not the car itself.

To find the “right” car you have to travel, do you always buy the first car you look at? ....Not like the floorpan is hanging out ...
This car has been on a dyno (Dyno Dynamics) so the power is there! – perhaps your arse dyno needs re-calibrating before you slate the car.
If you are looking for a genuine original Sapphire this is the one!.. as you have stated above!
Underneath it’s as fresh as can be and this car is NEVER used during winter or wet days. Hence its box fresh appearance.
With regard the power – its live mapped - its progressive - its been set up professionally – hence it’s very easy to drive as a road car.( I have driven this car and have to say it’s a peach )
You state you have been in a 400hp HG car well forgive me if I’m wrong, this isn’t a HG spec engine so hardly a comparison – cam spec/turbo spec can dramatically change the driving characteristics of a car.
