1987 3dr Sierra Cosworth (Near Concours) NEW PICS!!!
Welcome to the sale of my 1987 3dr Sierra Cosworth. I have decided to sell the car now as i would like to change to an Escort Cosworth. The car has been in my possesion for 2 years come this November.
When I purchased the car it was in pristine condition and all was pretty much standard. The car was valued by the RS Owners Club back in 1998 and was registered in concours condition, the car was owned back then by Steve Miller (known for having pristine examples of RS's). My aim when I bought the car was to get it looking like it had just rolled of the factory line. I managed to track down original parts - new or refurbished. The engine underwent a top end rebuild using original ford parts. Once everything was built back up it was set up by known cosworth specialist John Muir from Mv Turbos. There has been no expence spared with this car. Probably the one of the cleanest in the UK.
Engine: (Standard)
205 block
Recon 2wd head (Impulse Developments)
Recon cam cover
Inlet striped and painted
BERU HT Leads (Gen Ford)
2wd Sierra Headertank (Mint)
Brandnew Heat Shield
Brandnew Actuator
Motorcraft battery
Full new gasket set (Group A)
Full new Sensor kit
New filters oil, air etc
New tensioner and belt (Group A)
GGR full stainless system (could not find an original exhaust)
All bolts electroplated or replaced with news ones.
Engine bay fully detailed and engine decal kit
loads more done
THIS ENGINE BAY IS CONCOURS
Interior: (standard)
Full Recaro Seats (mint)
Standard Ford Cassette Deck and Amp
Parcel Shelf is totally mint (No sagging)
The whole interior is standard with not one after market part
THE INTERIOR IS CONCOURS
Exterior : (Standard)
The paint work is exeptional on this car
The front bumper was taken right back to bare plastic and re painted at TooleDesign paintwork specialists, company owned by my brother, the finish is flawless, colour match is spot on, 5-6 trips back and forth to the paintshop to get the match perfect.
Original dealership was tracked down from where the car was first sold, i got the dealership decal replicated as well as number plates, Motorshow display plates where also made up.
Wheels :
The Wheels have been refurbished and are mint, great shine in the sun.
Overall this car is as close to concours, the only thing left would be to restore the underside, but it is super clean underneath anyway. I never decided to do the underside as i knew the car would never get driven. Since i have owned the car i have done approx 200 miles.
The car has extensive history docs and receipts (bill of sale aswell).
It would be good for this car to go to an enthusiast and must be left totally standard as there are very few left that are as original as this one. The car has been my pride and joy and i am sure there are others who will get the same satisfaction that i have had working and driving this car over the two years.
