Default escort rs turbo black small project

for sale is my escort rs turbo i bought the car a few months back running lovely had a slight knock on the front which turned out to be the front lower arm i had this replaced and put some standard rs turbo wheels on it which in turn made it feel 10 times better to drive

about 2 weeks later i was driving back home from a quick trip out and all of a sudden there was alot of smoke out the back fearing the worse i nursed it home slowly parked it in my garage and left it for a couple days

was going to do a full resto on it but realised i couldent afford to after stripping it right down to a bare shell (left the engine in the car) so decided to put it all back together

cleaning all pipes ect through with degreasent and once all back together i have fired her up and no smoke at all :S was very confused but this is why im selling it as a "project" it starts runs and drives im no longer insured to drive the car so have not been able to drive it other than in and out of the garage

the other small problem is when putting the car back together the rear seatbelts would not pull out far enough to bolt down under the rear seats im not sure if theres a simple locking pin which i cant see or if they have jammed but both were working fine and correct befor i removed them aside from these 2 problems the car is lovely please take a look at the pics below

price is 1600 ono
mot till feb 2011
no tax but i can tax at new owners expense

im open to part ex on some vehicles prefferably old ford and rwd lol

piccccccys

im based in totnes devon veiwing is highly recomended if u bring trade plates and insurance that covers you and my vehicle then i will happily allow a test drive with me in the passenger side Thanks Tony

edit my mobile number is 07784 332747
i will be at work from 8 30am untill 5 30 pm and cannot answer calls at work thanks Tony

What colour was the smoke mate?? This seems like SUCH a bargain and it looks extremely clean... sure you don't want to let someone have a look around the car and make sure that its not just been a boost/vac/other pipe come off and you've fixed the problem with rebuilding everything.

Cheers,
Grant

Yea thats great Tony, just thought that it would help with the sale... do you not fancy slinging on a turbo to rule that out mate? If that sorts the problem then its not cost the earth and if you still want rid you can then sell it for much more than you're asking at the moment cause the car looks really nice from the pictures.

Sorry to piss on this thread but this was my m8's car and the turbo is fucked, creases in the bootfloor from a rear end shunt, the bloke who is selling this has not put an adequate and honest description of this car and anybody who is willing to travel to view it would be dissapointed, i for one would not like to go and view a car from any distance away to find it is not as described hence why i am warning you lot, sorry but i have had this happen to me before when viewing cars as i am sure most of you have too.

What ever you say Jase considering I'm the "mate" who used to own it and ironically still own it and for some reason you talk utter crap about my car for no apparent reason sorry guys but milesy seems to have a problem with yet only the other week was helping me plum all the pipes back into the turbo? Needs to grow up any one who wants to view the car feel free to call me I'll answer any questions honestly there is a small dent in the boot floor as you can see in the pic I did not see it nesacary to mention it as you can see it in the pic the turbo has not been tested and I have not driven the car further than 15 meters therefor not used the turbo when I've driven it since I put it back together thanks for all Interest

I've met Jase myself and he seems a top bloke, his own turbo is mint so perhaps he thought it best to mention the boot so as not too waste anybodys time.

I'd say it's still a good buy for someone and best for people to make their own descisions as to what the cars like, after all there can't be many rsts left that haven't had a bump of some description.

Personally I think it looks lovely, and is very well priced.

cheers vaughant i must admit me and jase have been friends for nearly 3 years but for some reason he has decided to fall out with me over selling this car

as ive said befor the car is a project and am by no means selling it as a "mint" example as its not hense the price tag i feel ive been as honest as i can about the car its tidy the rear seatbelts need bolting back in and the turbo has play in the shaft which i mentioned above when someone asked about it im not hiding anything the car is genuine in my opinion any questions about ANYTHING to do with the car feel free to ask and i will answer honestly

Thanks Tony

Vaughnt, tony is a liar i have seen the car with my own eyes felt the shaft and the play in it is unbelieveable as is the bad crease in the boot the reason i have fallen out with him is because he is dishonest in his description of his car and i cannot stand dishonest people especially when it comes to selling cars as i have been bitten before no one likes it especially people on forums, so all i have said to him is be honest about the description and he hasnt

looks a nice car in the pics but it is overly cheap for a car that just needs a turbo. I would definately look closer at it due to the price.

id say the simplest solution would be to just take some more pics of the supposed problem areas, decent quality, so the boot floor inside and underneath, and maybe a few of the underside of the sills n floorpans etc, that way theres nothing to hide as the pics will tell the story

as for play in the turbo, id say on a car advertised at 1600quid with it mentioned that theres play in the turbo, then thats fair enough.

get some pics up to put peoples minds at rest, it can only help the sale, and if people are genuinely lying to ruin the sale, it will serve to simply shut them up

my only concern is for potential buyers as i have been bitten before with cars that are not anywhere near as described and am just doing the decent thing and informing people about the car as he is dishonest, and its not a bit of play 1-2 mm we are talking alot more play than that i felt it with my own fingers and the creases are quite bad in the boot too, so yes tony pictures of the boot would be a good start, then people can see you for what you are

Pics will be up at the week end to shut you up Jase I've mentioned play in the turbo and like I've said there is a dent in the boot floor which I will get pics at the weekend of the as Jase puts it " giant crease" to prove it's a dent and I'm glad people are not judging befor seeing evidence any one who wants to come and check the car feel free to phone me with any questions befor traveling and I will answer all questions honestly

As I said will get pics of boot floor and underneath this week end I'll take pictures of the bits of welding aswell to not hide anything

Thanks Tony

1. You only mentioned the creases in the bootfloor AFTER i had already mentioned it.
2. not once have i mentioned GIANT CREASES i actually said quite bad creases from a rear end shunt and bad crease read your thread.
3. you wouldnt know honesty if it bit you on the ARSE.
4. i think you have already been made to look a liar because i mentioned the bootfloor before you put it in the thread
5. hopefully people will realise when they see PROPER photos of the bootfloor that you are a dishonest seller. ENOUGH SAID
