Mk2 fiesta xr2 forsale
Decided to sell my xr2 as i don't use her and haven't for nearly 3 years.
i tried selling a few months back but no luck, had plenty of offers but most were insulting.
its a 1987 xr2, i bought it in feb 2005 and i'm only the second owner. it has approximatley 72,000 miles on the clock and its genuine.
i have every old mot which proves the mileage and i only use it in the summer. i last used it in the summer of 2007, its not been on the road since, but has been started.
i had it extensively restored in the summer of 2005 by moorland classic cars at a cost of over £5000, i have reciepts and photos to prove.
it had new front wings and front panel, as it was just starting to rust under the headlights. the boot floor and inner wings have never been welded, nor have the inner or outer sills, they are all original.
it had a blue printed engine fitted in 2007 and is very nippy for a standard xr2. many new parts including:- radiator, alternator, front calipers, discs, new ford arial, 2 new tyres on the back, new clutch kit, all new belts, fan switch, water pump, thermostat, new standard front springs, new rear arms, and front wheel bearings.
any nuts and bolts required came from ford, new front indicators, bodykit put back on using ford black pop rivets.
all comments welcome
heres some pics:-
I’ve had a look through the pile of receipts and just listed some
of the work that the xr2 has had.
Firstly this a list of all the MOT’s I have and the mileage at the
time
May 23rd 1991 - 16,009 miles
May 27th 1992 - 20,910 miles
June 5th 1993 - 25,423 miles
June 7th 1994 - 29,832 miles
June 6th 1995 - 32,306 miles
Oct 13th 1999 - 53,922 miles
Feb 2nd 2005 - 60,379 miles
Apr 7th 2007 - 65,126 miles
Apr 12th 2008 - 68,242 miles
The car was first registered on 21/05/1987 and I bought it on the
5/02/2005 from the only owner. The log book shows 1 previous keeper so
I make it 2. I have all the original handbooks.
The car has been sorned since Oct 2007 and not used since it was last
MOT’d. It did fail its last MOT but only on worn rear arms which were
replaced with new and the rear wheel bearings required tightening. It
had no advisors.
I have all the old tax discs since I’ve owned the car.
The car is showing 68 thou on the clock, not sure of the exact figure
but that reflected with the mileage at the last MOT.
The bodywork was restored in 2 parts, firstly the front wings and
front panel were fitted along with one rear arch (forgot about that).
The cost for this was £1500. The car was then resprayed in June 2005 at
a further cost of just over £4000. I have the receipts and pics from
Moorland classic cars to prove. The car also had a new front windscreen
fitted as it was cracked. This is the proper green tint one as well.
Before I fitted the body kit back on, all unseen parts were treated to
a generous coat of wax oil, along with all cavities until it was
running out onto the floor.
The kit was refitted using the Ford black rivets and the screws on the
back of the arches, as per factory spec.
Here is a list of new parts fitted
Front indicators, Ford
Wheel bearings and ball joints
Dizzy cap, Ford
Alternator
New front springs
Water pump
Thermostat
Fan switch
Radiator
Clutch kit
Fan belt, oil filter
Sump plug
New aerial, Ford
2 new rear tyres
car currently has no MOT or tax but can be done for buyer
Price is £2500 ono
cheers Matthew
