1988 Ford Escort zetec project up for grabs!
Very reluctant sale but due to loss of garage I have no choice but sell it.
Originally a 1988 1.4 cvh 5 door gl.
V5 has been updated to show the car as being a 1.8 petrol and in blue (Originally brown)
Full RS turbo kit fitted and modified to fit rear arches.
Full respray in Ford Imperial Blue inside and out.
Front Escort RS turbo brakes fitted.
Sierra RS cosworth rear disc conversion.
Escort RS turbo s1 Recaros fitted.
Brand new headlights and indicators.
Set of 4 Mondeo SI 16" Alloy wheels and good set of tyres. (Rims could do with a refurb)
Smoked Escort RS turbo rear lights.
New generation wiper blades fitted front and rear.
Cobra alarm and immobiliser fitted.
delocked doors.
Multi T lock fitted.
Engine is a 18. 16 valve zetec.
(Did run but lost compression on 1 cylinder and so last ran on 3 cylinders)
Modified engine mount to bolt the zetec engine to the MK4 body.
Fiesta RS turbo gearbox fitted.
Fully polybushed suspension front and rear.
Lowered 40mm all round.
Smoothed out side repeators.
The body is in very good condition all round.
The fusebox area and battery are original.
The floor pans and sills are original and have never been welded.
The only panels to have been replaced are the front wings and the front panel.
New front brakes fitted.
New copper fuel lines fitted. Brand new EFI fuel tank fitted.
XR3i EFI wiring harness fitted.
Central locking.
Electric Windows.
Electric mirrors.
Parts needed to finish:
Engine
Radiator
Exhaust
Bumpers, spoiler bonnet vents need painting but are included.
Needs rear brake pipes and handbrake cables fitting.
EFI injectors
I personally think you would struggle to find a MK4 Escort as clean as this nowadays.
Its perfect if you have a rotten RS turbo, fit your enigne and your away. All the hard work has been done.
This will have to be trailered away as it does not run.
I have spent over2 K on the car so far with the respray costing almost 1K alone.
The car is located in the Newcastle Upon Tyne NE15 area.
Im looking for offers around the £950 mark.
