Cant see reg but front end looks pre 97 any reason ?

my mistake its a 98, r reg, not a 99, will modify original post.

It has a non facelift front end, im not sure why but i bought it like it. The car is a facelift model though, the logbook says registered in 1998, the engine is facelift, as is the interior. I did a hpi check when i bought the car in may 2008, and it came back all clear. Anyone is welcome to do the same, the reg is R258 DJS.
