D250 BBL,yes a well know car from maybe 3 years ago.Was stolen from the then owner and used in a bank job in Redditch,think it was a Barcleys bank.3 lads in the car,chased by the cops and the Worcestershire air unit.According to reports the chase lasted 40 mins,so the getaway driver must have been handy behind the wheel!!Makes a change from the usual 18 yr old who could'nt shake off a bog standard copcar Astra!!!!Anyway the sump got holed over a speed bump and the engine eventually siezed,as the RS coasted to a stop one of the cop Volvo T5's rammed into the drivers front wing to pin it to the curb.All occupents in the car were arrested.Was in some side street in Solihull if I'm not mistaken.Was a big thread about it on here.Was on the local radio news on brmb!! Was the longest cop chase ever in the Midlands area at the time!!!The car was returned to the owner,and he never really wanted the RS after that.So he stuck in a cheap 2nd hand lump,got the front wing replaced by a mate of his and flogged it on.Think he got the front bumper off a bloke on the RS Owners site for £65 quid.Good to hear it's still about,would'nt have thought the mill would still be running!!
