I'm 'assuming' this is the entry point but I wont know til I've found a way of fixing it without cutting a wing off! (possibly reach from the inside behind the speaker pod?).

I had a mk3 that rotted in the same place (behind drip panels) and had no battery tray or fusebox tray to speak of. Good old Ford and their built-in water traps.
i have same problem, i always though there was a hole there only my xr3i dose it not my rst a orion mk2 or a 1300 bonus i had

i remember once my mum sayin years and years ago it was on TOP GEAR as new that there is a place they all leak some went back to fords for recall, i gotta find it this year get my floor is rotten..........sorta dont wanna know whats under there
