Ive been asked dosens of times by people how to upload a sig to Passionford, so i thought i'd take the time to make a post explaining how for everybody's benefit.
Using
PHOTOBUCKET
The steps are as follows:
1. Ensure before you start that the Sig is within the size rules as dictated by Passionford (See sticky in this forum).
2. Put your Sig picture on the Desktop for easy access and have it saved as a jpg file (if unsure how to check this, rightclick on it and select properties. this will tell you the filesize and the actual size in pixels as well as the format).
3. You need to upload the pic to a website picture host.
Photobucket is what i use and is the most common, its free to use and easy too. You can get it at
www.Photobucket.com
Once you have an account you'll be presented with the main screen.
The Green section is what we are interested in.
4. Here, select
BROWSE (highlighted green), and a new window will open. Select desktop and you should see your picture file saved there.
Select it by double clicking it, and the window will close and you'll be back at the main page but you'll notice that the box next to the
BROWSE button now has a link to your picture on your desktop.
5. Click on the
KEEP ORIGINAL PICTURE NAMES button so that it is
UNCHECKED (the reason for this is often people save files with the same name and it will not let you upload them, this way it applies a random name).
6. Select
SUBMIT and the picture will be uploaded.
When finished you'll see the new picture added to the photo's on the page.
7. Underneath each pic you'll see 3 boxes (highlighted Green).
Left click once on the bottom box [img] and the text within it will be highlighted blue.
Then
Right click on the text and select
COPY
You are now finished with Photobucket so can close it down if needed.
8. Open Passionford, and on the main page select
PROFILE
When the page opens scroll down and mid way you'll see a large blank box which says
SIGNATURE (highlighted Green)
Right click in this box and select
PASTE.
the link you created to your Sig Picture should now be in the box.
Scroll right to the bottom of the page and select
SUBMIT.

using
IMAGE HOSTING on Passionford
Ensure you know where the picture you want to UPLOAD is, i'd suggest moving it or saving it to the desktop unless you know how to navigate easily enough to find it.
For this example I have saved it on the desktop.
Now, at the bottom of all posts and also in your Private messages (when you click reply) is the IMAGE HOSTING button. (below in red)
Click on this and a new window will open.
Click on the BROWSE button and another window will open. Navigate to where your picture is (in this case the DESKTOP), then once the picture is selected press the OPEN button.
The BROWSE window will close and you'll be left with the original window.
You should now see text has been added to the window.
Now click on the UPLOAD IMAGE button.
The window will change slightly and will now look like this.
(the long addition of text relates to where the file has been uploaded to)
Position your cursor on the box where the text is and click on your RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON.
A drop down menu will appear, move your cursor to SELECT ALL and click on your LEFT MOUSE BUTTON
The text will now be highlighted BLUE
Position your cursor again on the text and click on your RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON once again.
another drop down menu will appear but this time select COPY
Once you have selected COPY you can close the IMAGE HOSTING window above.
Now goto your PROFILE from the main Passionford Page
Scroll down to where the SIGNATURE box is in Profile Information.
Place your cursor in the box and RIGHT CLICK your mouse and a drop menu will once again appear.
Select PASTE.
You should now see text has been added to the signature box.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the SUBMIT button.
Its the same process for uploading an AVATAR as opposed to a SIGNATURE.
The only difference is that you can navigate to your stored picture directly from the Profile section itself.
And remember to check the Rules and Regulations regarding sizes for Physical and File
And thats all there is too it.
